The Prairie Thermal Treatment facility is a state-of-the-art non-hazardous waste incineration facility.

The project is a small world-class facility that will service niche customers. The technology is tried and tested, and will be unique in Alberta.

The developer is Prairie Thermal Treatment Ltd, one of the G-M Pearson group of companies.

Contributing to the community

The facility will contribute jobs and taxes to the Forestburg community for decades.

  • Facility operation will be strictly regulated especially with regards to air quality and human health
  • Low traffic and noise and no other interference with village life
  • All waste will be in closed containers
    Waste is transported in closed, secure vehicles. All operations are housed inside or directly alongside the warehouse-style facility
  • The Facility is based on a high-performance rotary kiln and comprehensive air pollution control system
  • All waste is non-hazardous
    The facility will treat wastes from medical facilities as well as other sensitive wastes that require total destruction. The plant will safely and securely process up to 8,000 tonnes of waste per year

  • We have a long history of providing service to government and private sector groups, managing a wide range of non-hazardous wastes.
  • We run a fleet of trucks to service current contracts. We developed and we operate a waste treatment facility in Rocky View County.
