Air Quality Assessment

The state-of-the-art Air Pollution Control system will clean the exhaust gas before it is released to the atmosphere.

Emissions to the atmosphere were modelled to determine their ground-level concentrations at the facility boundary and in the village and surrounding area.

The results show that the facility will meet ground-level chemical concentrations and ambient air quality objectives set by Alberta Environment and Parks, which are intended to protect the environment and public health.

Ensuring Protection of Community Health

Prairie Thermal Treatment has conducted a Project Specific Human Health Risk Assessment (HHRA) to ensure protection of community health.

The HHRA assessed data on air quality, soil quality, odour, sound and traffic related to the facility.

The results show that operation of the facility will not impact the health of people living, working and playing in the community.

Ensuring Protection of Community Health

Alberta Health has requested that a Project-Specific Human Health Risk Assessment (HHRA) be conducted to ensure protection of the community health. Prairie Thermal Treatment Ltd. has engaged one of Canada’s leading experts in incineration and health. The HHRA assesses data on air quality, soil quality, odour, sound, and traffic related to the Facility. The HHRA results confirm that the level of chemicals emitted from the Facility are very low and will not impact people living, working, and playing in the community.
